1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting of the Culture, Communications, Welsh Language, Sport, and International Relations Committee, and noted that there had been a change to the order of the agenda to accommodate witness availability, meaning that the Committee would now meet in public for the first two items.
1.2 Apologies were received from Carolyn Thomas MS.
2.1 The Committee heard evidence from Laurence Farreng MEP, Member of the European Parliament Committee on Culture and Education.
3.1 The papers were noted.
3.2 The Committee agreed to amend its draft report on Public Service Broadcasting in Wales to reflect written evidence received from the Welsh Government.
4.1 The Motion was agreed.
5.1 Due to technical issues, the Committee was unable to receive the presentation of citizen engagement findings and will seek to reschedule this item for a meeting in the future.
6.1 The Committee considered the evidence received.
7.1 The Committee considered the draft report and agreed to approve minor amendments by email.
8.1 The Committee considered the forward work programme for summer 2024 and agreed the draft Terms of Reference for a one day inquiry on the development of post-16 Welsh language provision.
8.2 The Committee agreed to consider the wider forward work programme for summer 2024 again at a future meeting.
9.1 The Committee heard evidence from Professor Catherine Barnard, University of Cambridge, and Dr Charlotte Faucher, University of Bristol.
10.1 The Committee considered the evidence received.
11.1 The Committee considered the UK and Welsh Government analyses of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and agreed to keep a watching brief.
12.1 The Committee considered the UNESCO Convention on the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage International Agreements and agreed to keep a watching brief.
12.2 The Committee also agreed to share the correspondence from the Welsh and UK Governments with both the Senedd’s Legislation, Justice and Constitution Committee and the UK Parliament’s International Agreements Committee.
